Using a Bit of Masking Fluid

A week ago or so I did a quick painting showing my class the wonders of using masking fluid. Masking fluid is great for protecting intricate areas and allowing me to then wash in a free-flowing puddle of colors.

In this painting I only used masking fluid to protect the initial white areas. Many artists will use several layers of masking fluid to protect the washes at different stages. I’m too impatient for that.
